Le monogramme du droit, avec la lettre S prise dans le jambage gauche du M pourrait se lire comme S MA. Philippe Schiesser a montré que ce type devait être attribué à la Touraine en raison du monogramme à la boucle du revers. Dans ce cas ce S MA pourrait désigner Saint-Maurice ou Saint-Martin de Tours pour Sanctus MA(VRICIVS ou ARTINVS). Il pourrait aussi s'agir d'un monogramme faisant référence à Marmoutier (Major Monasterium de Tours).
The monogram on the right, with the letter S taken from the left leg of the M could be read as S MA. Philippe Schiesser showed that this type should be attributed to Touraine because of the monogram on the loop on the reverse. In this case this S MA could designate Saint-Maurice or Saint-Martin de Tours for Sanctus MA (VRICIVS or ARTINVS). It could also be a monogram referring to Marmoutier (Major Monasterium of Tours)
