Gegenna wurde am 4. Dezember 1535 zu Genf. Am 24. November 1535 beschloss der Rat der Zweihundert, Münzen im Namen der Republik Genf prägen zu lassen; Die ersten Sols de Billon wurden 1536 geprägt. Am 21. Mai 1536 wurde die Genfer Republik ausgerufen und die reformierte Religion wurde zur Staatsreligion. Bildung wird obligatorisch und kostenlos.
