Beschreibung Vorderseite Galère voguant à gauche, ornée d'un masque de lion avec deux hoplites à l'intérieur ; gouvernail ; au-dessous, les flots, un hippocampe et un coquillage couché (murex).

Beschreibung Rückseite Griffon ailé, assis à gauche, levant l’antérieur gauche ; grènetis.

Kommentare

Poids très léger Il est impossible de déterminer avec certitude à quelle période appartient ce seizième de shekel. Type plus ancien. J. et A. G. Elayi pour ce type ont recensé vingt exemplaires avec trois coins de droit et six coins de revers identifiés. Mêmes coins que l’exemplaire reproduit dans l’ouvrage sur Byblos (n° 1544, pl. 24). C’est la première fois que nous présentons ce type à la vente.
Very light weight It is impossible to determine with certainty to which period this sixteenth of a shekel belongs. Older type. J. and AG Elayi for this type have identified twenty examples with three obverse dies and six reverse dies identified. Same dies as the example reproduced in the work on Byblos (no. 1544, pl. 24). This is the first time that we are presenting this type for sale
