Ces monnaies ont été frappées à Monaco en 1837 et 1838 sur des flans neufs grâce au balancier de Droz racheté à la Monnaie de Paris.

Historischer Hintergrund
MONACO - HONORÉ V
(1819-1841)
Honoré V. (1778-1841), Sohn und Nachfolger von Honoré IV., kehrte 1814 nach Monaco zurück. Er wurde von Ludwig XVIII. zum Adelsstand Frankreichs ernannt. Tatsächlich steht das Fürstentum unter dem obligatorischen Protektorat des Königreichs Sardinien. Florestan folgte ihm 1841 nach.
