Intéressante médaille, témoin du développement de la Franc-maçonnerie britannique aux Indes au XIXe siècle ainsi que de l’histoire des parsis de Bombay. Il s’agit ici d’un exemplaire de la deuxième série réalisée en 1904.
Jacques Bunes est un médecin et Grand Maître de la Province des Indes Occidentales (1836) puis Grand Maître pour toutes les Indes (1846), fondateur de la célèbre loge Rising Star de Bombay ouverte aux indigènes, parsis et musulmans..
An interesting medal, a testament to the development of British Freemasonry in India in the 19th century, as well as the history of the Parsis of Bombay. This is a example from the second series produced in 1904. Jacques Bunes was a doctor and Grand Master of the Province of the West Indies (1836) and then Grand Master for all the Indies (1846), founder of the famous Rising Star lodge in Bombay, open to natives, Parsis, and Muslims.
