Ce type de monnaie correspond à la var. 10 de la série 40 du Nouvel Atlas regroupant tous les statères unifaces des Ambiens.
Cette monnaie peut avoir été utilisée comme faux, mais il peut aussi s'agir d'une monnaie tardive de bronze, copiée sur le type du statère d'or uniface.
Comme cet exemplaire, la monnaie DT. 243 a la particularité d'avoir une petite esse de part et d'autre du globule sous le cheval.

This coin may have been used as a counterfeit, but it may also be a late bronze coin, copied from the type of the single-sided gold stater. Historischer Hintergrund
GALLIEN - BELGICA - AMBIANI (Region die Amiens)
(2. – 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Ihr Name „diejenigen, die auf beiden Seiten des Flusses leben“ weist darauf hin, dass die Ambiens, ein Volk im belgischen Gallien, beide Ufer der Somme (Samara) besetzten. Ihr Territorium entspricht dem heutigen Departement Somme. Ihre Nachbarn waren die Calètes, die Morins, die Atrébates und die Bellovaques. Ihr wichtigstes Oppidum war Samarobriva (in der Nähe von Amiens). Sie beteiligten sich 57 v. Chr. an der Koalition der belgischen Völker und stellten ein Kontingent von zehntausend Mann. Im Jahr 52 v. Chr. gaben sie ein Kontingent von fünftausend Mann für die Hilfsarmee zur Räumung von Alesia ab. Caesar (BG. II, 4, 15; VII, 75; VIII, 7). Strabo (G. IV, 5). Kruta: 68, 110, 366.
