Si ce type exact est typique du monnayage de billon des Baïocasses, le traitement de la tête n’est pas représenté dans la sélection des monnaies du Nouvel Atlas. Il est néanmoins possible de rapprocher cette monnaie du DT. 2264 “au profil géométrique”.

(2. – 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Die Baïocasses oder Bodiocasses werden in Caesars Gallischen Kriegen nicht erwähnt. Es ist Plinius der Ältere, der zuerst darüber spricht. Die Baiocasses besetzten einen Teil der heutigen Normandie, das Bessin. Ihre Nachbarn waren die Unelles, die Viducasses und die Véliocasses. Ihr Hauptoppidum war Augustodurum (Bayeux). Plinius (HN. IV, 107). Ptolemaios (G. II, 8).
