Die Durocasses werden von Caesar in den Gallischen Kriegen nicht zitiert. Sie scheinen sich erst recht spät von der Vormundschaft der Carnuts emanzipiert zu haben, ebenso wie die Parisii von der Vormundschaft der Senonen. Ihr Name bedeutet „die Krieger des befestigten Hügels“..
