Beaucoup des plus belles médailles de bronze d'organisations américaines ont été réalisées au cours de l'apogée de cette forme d'art, entre 1920 et 1970. Ce chef-d'œuvre en haut-relief a été fabriqué par le Medallic Art Co. pour commémorer le 150e anniversaire (1812 à 1962) de la First City national Bank of New York. La grande figure nue, les bras tendus dans une position de protection, représentant l'esprit du peuple américain, est entourée par des figures qui représentent la Famille, la Culture, le Commerce,les Transports, l’Industrie et l’Agriculture.
Cette médaille a été créée à Barcelone par Enrique Monjo (1896-1976), un sculpteur espagnol..
Inscribed edge: MEDALLIC ART CO. NY BRONZE. Many of the finest bronze medals for American organizations were made during the heyday of this art form, between 1920 and 1970. This high-relief masterpiece was made by the Medallic Art Co. to commemorate the 150th anniversary (1812 to 1962) of the First City National Bank of New York. The large nude figure, arms outstretched in a protective position, representing the spirit of the American people, is surrounded by figures representing Family, Culture, Commerce, Transportation, Industry, and Agriculture. This medal was created in Barcelona by Enrique Monjo (1896-1976), a Spanish sculptor.
