Historischer Hintergrund
AMOUR ET MARIAGE
Früher war es üblich, während der Hochzeitsmesse ein Treizain zu geben. Dieser Treizain war gesegnet und bedeutete für das Ehepaar den Eintritt in eine Gütergemeinschaft. Der Treizain, der später zu einer Medaille oder einem Hochzeitszeichen wurde, wurde zu Ehren Jesu Christi und der zwölf Apostel so genannt. Diese Praxis wurde bis in die erste Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts fortgesetzt. Das Nachschlagewerk zu diesem Thema ist das Werk von Jules Florange, Love and Marriage in Numismatics, Moulins, 1936, das jetzt durch das von Henri Térisse, La Numismatique du Mariage, Argenton-sur-Creuse 2008, ersetzt wurde.
