Le droit de cette drachme appartient à la variété 1 de cette série VIII, mais le revers appartient à la variété 2, avec la hache pleine à gauche avec manche lisse, bouleté au sommet et ayant sur sa droite une rangée verticale de perles. Cette association en fait un hybride qui semble être inédit.

Historischer Hintergrund
GALLIA - SÜWESTGALLIEN - PETROCORII (Region die Périgueux)
(1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Die Pétrocoriens oder Pétrocores, deren Territorium sich zwischen der Dordogne und der Vézère im heutigen Departement Dordogne (dem ehemaligen Périgord) erstreckte, hatten Périgueux als Hauptstadt. Sie waren Teil des keltischen Galliens und werden dann Aquitanien angegliedert. Sie erscheinen spät als Nitiobroger zur Zeit der Endphase der Gallischen Kriege. Sie stellten der Hilfsarmee ein Kontingent von 5.000 Mann zur Verfügung. Strabo wies darauf hin, dass die Petrocores sehr gute Metallurgen waren und Eisen bearbeiteten. Quellen: Caesar (BG.
