Médaille attribuée en 1947 à Alfred Margaine en tant qu’ancien député de la Marne. Il naquit le 18 janvier 1870 à Sainte-Menehould (Marne) et décéda le 17 avril 1953 à Rochecorbon (Indre-et-Loire). Il fut élu député de la Marne sous la Xe législature (24 avril 1910-1914) et fut constamment réélu jusque sous la XVIe législature (3 mai 1936-31 mai 1942). Il figure parmi les 80 députés qui s’opposèrent à donner les pleins pouvoirs au Maréchal Pétain. Il siégeait sur les bancs des républicains radicaux et radicaux socialistes. Il fut également sous-secrétaire d’État à la guerre du 10 au 13 juin 1914 (durant 3 jours !), sous sous-secrétaire d’État aux Travaux publics du 3 juin au 14 décembre 1932.

He was also Under-Secretary of State for War from June 10 to 13, 1914 (for 3 days!), and Deputy Under-Secretary of State for Public Works from June 3 to December 14, 1932
