Bronze de qualité hors du commun pour cette très rare monnaie. Droit et revers complets, avec un avers sur un flan un peu court, mais un superbe revers de frappe vigoureuse, avec une superbe patine sombre et brillante

C’est le premier bronze de cette très rare série que nous proposons à la vente.
La représentation d’un personnage en pied est assez exceptionnelle sur des bronzes gaulois, mise à part l’abondante série au personnage courant des Bellovaques !
L'attribution aux Turons n’est peut-être pas satisfaisante, mais l’aire de répartition de ces bronzes, comme de tant d’autres attribués aux Carnutes, semble localisée au sud de la Touraine...
Cet exemplaire offre clairement un revers anépigraphe..
This is the first bronze from this very rare series that we are offering for sale. The representation of a full-length figure is quite exceptional on Gallic bronzes, apart from the abundant series with the running figure of the Bellovaci! The attribution to the Turons is perhaps not satisfactory, but the distribution area of these bronzes, like so many others attributed to the Carnutes, seems to be located in the south of Touraine... This example clearly has an anepigraphic reverse.
