Ce type monétaire avec un globule et un pentalpha est traditionnellement attribué à la Touraine et au Poitou. La légende IONIS ou IOVIS pourrais être la fin de la légende TVRONIS pour Tours. Des deniers à ce type monétaire sont connus pour les ateliers de Châteaudun, Chinon, Saint-Martin de Tours et Poitiers (Belfort n° 3633). Des monnaies au même type étaient présentent dans le trésor de Savonnières (Indre-et-Loire) (cf. Lafaurie (Jean), Trésor de deniers mérovingiens trouvé à Savonnières (Indre-et-Loire), RN 1963, p. 65-81 et pl. VIII, particulièrement n° 37-45, p. 81.
This monetary type with a globule and a pentalpha is traditionally attributed to Touraine and Poitou. The legend IONIS or IOVIS could be the end of the legend TVRONIS for Tours.
