Cette monnaie a été frappée à la Monnaie de Paris pour Numismatica Italiana (N.I).
François-Joseph-Amédée Lamy (1858-1900) est un officier de l’Armée Française. Il participe à diverses expéditions coloniales dont la mission Foureau-Lamy, une exploration scientifique et militaire française réalisée entre 1898 et 1900 à travers le Sahara et en direction du Soudan français. Ik est tué le 22 avril 1900 à la bataille de Kousseri. La ville fondée dans les alentours est nommée Fort-Lamy en sa mémoire. Depuis l’indépendance, il s’agit de Ndjamena, capitale du Tchad.
This coin was minted at the Paris Mint for Numismatica Italiana (NI). François-Joseph-Amédée Lamy (1858-1900) was an officer in the French Army. He participated in various colonial expeditions, including the Foureau-Lamy mission, a French scientific and military exploration carried out between 1898 and 1900 across the Sahara and towards French Sudan. Ik was killed on April 22, 1900, at the Battle of Kousseri. The town founded nearby was named Fort-Lamy in his memory. Since independence, it has been Ndjamena, the capital of Chad.
