The country's main tourist attraction, the oldest inscription found on the walls of Postojna Cave (50 km southeast of the capital Ljubljana) dates back to 1213. The spiral depicted on the obverse symbolizes the length and antiquity of the cave as well as the path that has led visitors through it for 800 years.
