Ce potin ne correspond pas au DT. 3254 ; il existe effectivement deux types de potin TOC au cheval en fonction du module et de la légende. Le potin DT. S3257B présente le même motif () entre les jambes et au-dessus du dos du cheval.
Cet exemplaire d'un petit module manque au Nouvel Atlas, avec un Q au-dessus du cheval et () entre les jambes.

Historischer Hintergrund
GALLIEN - BELGICA - SEQUANI (Region die Besançon)
(2. – 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Die Séquaner waren eines der bedeutendsten Völker Ostgalliens. Sie waren die Feinde der Häduer, ihrer Nachbarn. Ihr Territorium war sehr ausgedehnt und erstreckte sich zwischen der Saône, der Rhône, dem Jura und den Vogesen. Die Jura-Seen trennten sie von den Helvetiern. Sie waren im 3. und 2. Jahrhundert v. Chr. sehr mächtig gewesen, hatten jedoch ihren Glanz verloren, nachdem die Germanen um 70 v. Chr. einen Teil ihres Territoriums besetzt hatten. Ihre Nachbarn waren die Leuques, die Lingonen, Häduer und Helvetier. Ihr wichtigstes Oppidum war Vesontio (Besançon). Während des Feldzugs von 52 v. Chr. wurden sie von Cäsar mehrfach erwähnt und stellten ein Kontingent von 12.000 Mann für die Entsatzarmee. Caesar (BG. I, 1-3, 6, 8-10, 12, 19, 31-33, 35, 38, 40, 44, 48, 54; IV, 10; VI, 12; VII, 66, 67, 75, 90). Kruta: 16, 71, 111, 364.
