D’après le Moneta, ce type est attribué à Childebert Ier (537-548) et seulement quatre exemplaires ont été étudiés. Selon J. Lafaurie, ce type est également connu en argent.
Dans son étude à paraître sur “Le système trimétallique provençal de Théodebert (534-548)”, P. Schiesser confirme que d’autres rois comme Childebert Ier ont aussi frappé monnaies dans les trois métaux. Il illustre une monnaie comparable à la notre sous sa figure 47 (Cahiers E. Babelon 13.35.1.2).
According to the Moneta, this type is attributed to Childebert I (537-548) and only four examples have been studied. According to J. Lafaurie, this type is also known in silver. In his forthcoming study on “The Provençal trimetallic system of Théodebert (534-548)”, P. Schiesser confirms that other kings like Childebert I also minted coins in the three metals.
