Kommentare
Frappé sur un tout petit flan épais, ce triens correspond au B. 3675 de la coll. Rousseau. Dans ses travaux sur les monnayages mérovingiens armoricains, B. Leroy recense un triens du même type sous le n° 126 (classé en Phase IIa et daté de c. 590-610) ; ce dernier provient de la vente Furstenberg, 14 décembre 1932, lot n° 1047 et est maintenant conservé en collection privée.
Le Moneta ne recense que ces deux triens pour ce monétaire, en les attribuant à Saint-Même-le-Tenu (Loire-Atlantique).

Historischer Hintergrund
PORTO VEDIRI - PORT-SAINT-PERE (LOIRE ATLANTIQUE)
(6. - 7. Jahrhundert)
In einer Mitteilung äußert Herr Longnon seine Meinung, dass Porto Vediri oder Veteri seiner Meinung nach derselbe Ort zu sein scheint wie Portus Vetraria, der in einem Diplom von Sigebert II. erwähnt wird. Von den beiden Formen Porto Veteri und Porto Vidrari dürfte die zweite die älteste sein. Herr Longnon identifizierte Portus Vetraria mit Port-Saint-Père und stützte sich dabei auf die Tatsache, dass Portus Vetraria im zitierten Diplom als „super fluvio Taunuco“ bezeichnet wird und dass Port Saint-Père am Tenu liegt, andernfalls sagt die Achenau , ein Nebenfluss der Loire. Port-Saint-Père liegt in der Nähe des Grand-Lieu-Sees, 25 km südwestlich von Nantes und 30 km östlich von Pornic. Der Name Port-Saint-Père kommt vom lateinischen Portus Sancti Petri: Hafen von Saint Pierre.
