Ignacy Jan Paderewski (Kurylówka 1860 - New York 1941) est un pianiste, compositeur, homme politique et diplomate polonais. Musicien talentueux, il interrompt sa carrière pour plaider en faveur d’un Pologne libre et démocratique. En janvier 1919, il devient Premier ministre et ministre des affaires étrangères de la Pologne nouvellement indépendante. Il reprend ensuite sa carrière de musicien. Il tente en vain de sauver la Pologne de l’Allemagne nazie et de l’Union Soviétique. En 1939, il prend la présidence du Conseil national polonais en exil.
Ignacy Jan Paderewski (Kurylówka 1860 - New York 1941) was a Polish pianist, composer, politician, and diplomat. A talented musician, he interrupted his career to advocate for a free and democratic Poland. In January 1919, he became Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the newly independent Poland. He then resumed his musical career. He tried unsuccessfully to save Poland from Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. In 1939, he became President of the Polish National Council in exile.
