Poids très léger. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cuirasse lisse. Épaulières décorées. Ptéryges lisses. En dehors du site de T. Marchal, ce type est complètement inédit et non recensé avec ce type de buste pour l’atelier d’Antioche. Serait le troisième exemplaire signalé. Pour ce type avec ce type de buste tout à fait exceptionnel, Thibaut Marchal a relevé seulement deux exemplaires dont aucun d’illustré sur 1024 monnaies de son site, 284 antoniniens pour les deux émissions d’Antioche de 247 et vingt-deux exemplaires avec le revers AEQVITAS AVG. Avec ce buste très particulier, au total, le même auteur n’a relevé que six exemplaires dont deux avec le revers réservé à l’Équité. Le buste de Philippe Ier est tout à fait extraordinaire avec une cuirasse lisse, mais les deux épaulières visibles et ornementées, l’épaule gauche chargée d’un pan de paludamentum qui fait penser à une égide. Le scalptor de cette émission fait penser à celui qui a gravé les coins des tétradrachmes (PR. 352B à 357). Au revers, la légende AEQVITAS AVG est au singulier alors que nous avons deux augustes, Philippe I et son fils Philippe II, normalement indiqué par le doublement du G pour AVGG. Pour Thibaut Marchal, l’absence du second G serait le moyen que les graveurs de l’atelier d’Antioche aurait utilisé pour différencier les deuxième et troisième émissions de l’atelier.
Very light weight. Type 3 ribbons with pelleted ends. Smooth breastplate. Decorated shoulder pads. Smooth pteryges. Outside the T site. Marchal, this type is completely unpublished and not recorded with this type of bust for the Antioch workshop. Would be the third reported example. For this type with this quite exceptional type of bust, Thibaut Marchal noted only two examples, none of which are illustrated on 1024 coins on his site, 284 antoninians for the two Antioch issues of 247 and twenty-two examples with the reverse AEQVITAS AVG. With this very particular bust, in total, the same author noted only six examples, two of which have the reverse reserved for Equity.. The bust of Philip I is quite extraordinary with a smooth cuirass, but the two visible and ornamented shoulder guards, the left shoulder loaded with a piece of paludamentum which is reminiscent of an aegis. The scalper in this issue is reminiscent of the one who engraved the dies of the tetradrachms (PR. 352B to 357). On the reverse, the legend AEQVITAS AVG is in the singular while we have two augusts, Philip I and his son Philip II, normally indicated by the doubling of the G for AVGG. For Thibaut Marchal, the absence of the second G would be the means that the engravers of the Antioch workshop would have used to differentiate the second and third issues of the workshop
