Très joli potin présentant une fine usure superficielle. Autrement, caque motif reste bien net avec un revers particulièrement bien venu à la coulée. Patine grise

Ce type de potin est extraordinaire, il manque à la plupart des musées et ne passe quasiment jamais en vente !
Anciennement attribué aux Suessions ou aux Meldes, il a été restitué à la Région Parisienne dans le Nouvel Atlas, avec le potin parisii au cheval DT. 682.
Dans la composition du revers, J. Debord voit une scène de la mythologie germanique, où le loup Fenrir dévore le bras du dieu Tyr. P.-M. Duval ne reprend pourtant pas cette rare monnaie dans son ouvrage “Monnaies gauloises et mythes celtiques”.

Debord sees in the reverse design a scene from Germanic mythology, where the wolf Fenrir devours the arm of the god Tyr. However, P.-M. Duval does not include this rare coin in his work “Gallic Coins and Celtic Myths.”

PARISII (Region die Paris)
(2. – 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Die Parisii waren ein kleines, aber mächtiges Volk, dessen Oppidum Lutèce war. Die mit den Sénons verwandten Parisii und die Stadt hätten sich relativ spät, nach der Niederlage der Arverne im Jahr 121 v. Chr., von ihrer Vormundschaft emanzipiert. Der Reichtum der Parisii beruhte auf der Flusskontrolle der Seine und den Zusammenflüssen mit der Marne, Bièvre , Ourcq und Oise. César wählt Lutèce im Jahr 53 vor J. - C., um die Versammlung der gallischen Völker einzuberufen. Die Parisii gehörten zu den ersten, die im darauffolgenden Jahr, im Jahr 52 v. Chr., dem Ruf von Vercingetorix folgten, und stellten ein Kontingent von achttausend Mann für die Entsatzarmee. Unter der Aufsicht von Labienus, einem Freund und Legaten Caesars, war das Gebiet der Parisii Schauplatz der letzten Schlachten zwischen Galliern und Römern. Schließlich wurde der Aulercan-Häuptling Camulogenes in der Nähe von Lutetia besiegt und getötet. Caesar (BG. VI, 3; VII, 4, 34, 57, 75). Kruta: 36, 40 46, 68, 365, 368.
