Ce type est parfois attribué à l’atelier de Rusicade (Philippeville, Algérie) ou d’Utique (Tunisie). L’attribution est controversée. Jacques Alexandropoulos semble pencher pour Utique qui était l’ennemi irréductible de Carthage.

Historischer Hintergrund
NUMIDIEN - RUSICADE
(2. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Rusicade ist eine phönizische Gründung, für die es keine Beweise gibt. Der Ort wurde von der römischen Kolonie Sittani unter dem Namen Colonia Julia Veneria Rusicade übernommen. Die Stadt Philippeville wurde 1836 auf den Ruinen der römischen Stadt gegründet.
