Historischer Hintergrund
MONACO - FÜRSTENTUM MONACO - RAINIER III.
(1949-2005)
Rainier III (1921–2005) trat am 9. November 1949 die Nachfolge seines Großvaters Ludwig II. an. 1956 heiratete er die amerikanische Schauspielerin Grace Kelly, die spätere Prinzessin Grace (die 1982 starb). Unter seiner Herrschaft wurde das Fürstentum modernisiert. Sein Sohn Albert II. wird sein Nachfolger.
