Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, duc de Penthièvre, d'Aumale (1775), de Rambouillet (1737), de Gisors, de Châteauvillain, d'Arc-en-Barrois, d'Amboise, comte d'Eu et seigneur du duché de Carignan, amiral et grand veneur de France, est né à Rambouillet le 16 novembre 1725 et mort au château de Bizy à Vernon (Eure) le 4 mars 1793. La légende du revers provient des Métamorphoses d’Ovide, livre I et le jeton commémore la victoire contre les pirates de Sales.
