L’attribution à Lete en Macédoine est possible, mais pas certaine. J.-N. Svoronos attribuait ces monnaies aux Sirinopéoniens.

Historischer Hintergrund

MAKEDONIEN - LETE

(6. – 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr.).

Lete lag im Gebiet der Amphaxitis oberhalb von Therma (Thessalonich), aber die Stadt war in der Antike unbedeutend und es ist zweifelhaft, ob dort eine Münzprägung stattgefunden hat. Allerdings lag die Stadt an der strategischen Straße, die Pangäa mit den Minen im Hinterland verband..
