The edge is beveled and cut into two parts. The ribbon used to join the two sides is not present. We therefore cannot see the punch. In any case, we are here on a re-strike from the second half of the 20th century. In June 1675, Louis XIV went to lay siege to Flanders. He took Dinant in May, Huy and Limburg in June. Meanwhile, Condé was watching for the Prince of Orange in the vicinity of Charleroi, without risking a battle. Turenne had rejoined his army in Alsace. It was near the small village of Salzbach that he was killed by a cannonball, while conducting reconnaissance (July 27). His death was a national mourning in France
