Beschreibung Rückseite Restes d'un quadrupède passant (à droite ?), surmonté d'un petit croissant et avec un triskèle au-dessous.
Kommentare
Au droit, la tête est accostée de deux croissants. L’animal du revers n’a que les deux pattes avant ; il est encadré d’un croissant au-dessus et d’un triskèle au-dessous. Le corps de l’animal est recouvert de deux croissants orientés différemment et d’un point. S’il est réellement à droite, il subsiste le reste de sa queue qui remonte à gauche. Ces caractéristiques manquent au Gäumann. Semble inédit.

The animal's body is covered by two differently oriented crescents and a dot. If it is truly on the right, the rest of its tail remains, which goes up to the left. These characteristics are missing from the Gäumann. Seems unpublished

Historischer Hintergrund

Der „sogenannte“ degenerierte Halbmond oder Halbmond- und Triskele-Klatsch sind Nachahmungen, möglicherweise kopiert vom vorübergehenden Stierklatsch (LT. 5284), der früher den Mandubianern zugeschrieben wurde und heute als „Central de Gaul“ umklassifiziert wird. Dieser Klatsch selbst ist den Bronzestatuen von Marseille mit dem Stier nachempfunden. Die große Vielfalt, die zwischen verschiedenen Gerüchten bestehen kann, lässt eine wiederkehrende Zuschreibung nicht zu. Eine Lösung könnte wieder einmal von jenseits des Ärmelkanals zu uns kommen. Eines der Exemplare im Oxford-Museum aus der Sammlung von D. Allen soll aus dem Lager Amboise (Indre-et-Loire) im Land der Turons stammen. Dieser Typ soll aus dem Schatz von Chartres stammen (Blanchet, ABT. Abb. 116). Die maximalistische Zuschreibung der „Mitte Loire“ ist gültig, aber nicht endgültig.
