Selon Michael Mitchiner, ce Lat au type “langue de tigre” en forme de lingot avec les trois symboles du serpent (na) a été frappé au XVIIe siècle à Ventiane dans le sud du Royaume.

Historischer Hintergrund
LAOS - LAN XANG
(1353-1707)
Lang Es wurde im 14. Jahrhundert von Fa Ngum, einem verbannten Kind vom Hof von Angkor, gegründet. Dies sichert die Grenzen, unterwirft die Fürstentümer und reformiert den Buddhismus. Luang Prabang wird zur Hauptstadt und zum spirituellen Königreich. Der Wohlstand hält etwa 70 Jahre an, dann verfällt das Königreich, geplagt von politischer Instabilität. Ab 1694 wurde das Königreich zerstückelt und der letzte König wurde 1707 ausgerufen.
