Beschreibung Rückseite Représentation du concile, le pape et les évêques assis autour de l’évangile posé sur un fauteuil. Christ nimbé au milieu des nuages au dessus. Deux poinçons à l’exergue dont un de titrage : 900 / N.I et 1AR.

Historischer Hintergrund
ITALIE - ÉTATS DE L'ÉGLISE - JEAN XXIII (Angelo Guiseppe Roncalli)
(28.10.1958-3.6.1963)
Der ursprünglich aus der Region Bergamo stammende Johannes XXIII. stammte aus einer sehr bescheidenen Bauernfamilie. Als Kaplan im Ersten Weltkrieg begann er 1925 eine diplomatische Laufbahn. 1953 wurde er zum Kardinal ernannt und nach elf Wahlgängen zum Papst als Nachfolger von Pius XII. gewählt. Während seines Pontifikats leitete er mit der Ankündigung des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils im Jahr 1959 einen Wandel in der katholischen Kirche ein. Sein Nachfolger Paul VI. eröffnete 1968 sein Seligsprechungsverfahren.
