bga_974681 - UNSPECIFIED OF THE NORD-WEST Bronze ARTOIAMOS / NAVMV ARCANTO

Ce bronze d'un type excessivement rare (seulement deux exemplaires connus à la BN) complète la légende connue jusqu'alors. La légende de revers NAMA a été prise en compte par Duchalais pour attribuer ce bronze à la ville de Nîmes. Avec l'épigraphie ARCANTO qui permet de restituer la légende complète, il est possible de suggérer que NAVMV serait en fait un nom de personnage portant le titre d'Arcantodan. Contrairement à l'exemplaire BN 2708 qui illustre le RIG, ce bronze n'a pas le pentagramme entre les jambes du cheval.
This bronze of an extremely rare type (only two examples known to the BN) completes the legend known until then. The reverse legend NAMA was taken into account by Duchalais to attribute this bronze to the city of Nîmes. With the epigraphy ARCANTO which allows the complete legend to be restored, it is possible to suggest that NAVMV would in fact be a name of a character bearing the title of Arcantodan. Unlike the example BN 2708 which illustrates the RIG, this bronze does not have the pentagram between the legs of the horse
