Ce personnage porte le nom de Scaliger et il existe une fiche Wiipedia sur la famille http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Scaliger . Le nom vient, comme le représente leurs armes, du mot échelle et la famille est donc connue tant sous le nom de Scaliger que de Scaligeri, Scalis ou de Della Scala.
Malheureusement, il semble selon cette chronologie que leur domination sur Vérone ne dura pas au delà du XVe siècle et notre Scipion doit être un prétendant très tardif qui limita apparemment ses prétentions à la fabrication de ce jeton à ses armes.
This character is called Scaliger and there is a Wikipedia entry on the family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Scaliger . The name comes, as their arms represent, from the word scale and the family is therefore known as both Scaliger and Scaligeri, Scalis or Della Scala. Unfortunately, it seems from this chronology that their rule over Verona did not last beyond the 15th century and our Scipio must be a very late claimant who apparently limited his claims to the making of this token to his arms
