Ellis Island est une île située à l’embouchure de l’Hudson entre New York et le New Jersey. Entre 1892 et 1954, y ont été implantés les services de l’immigration devenant la principale porte d’immigration des États-Unis. En 1965, l’île est intégrée au monument national de la statue de la Liberté. Le bâtiment principal a été restauré et accueille depuis 1990 le musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration des États-Unis.

Launched in early 2010, 'America the Beautiful' is a program of 56 commemorative quarter dollar coins depicting the national parks and other national sites of the United States of America. Ellis Island is an island located at the mouth of the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey. Between 1892 and 1954, the immigration service was located there, becoming the main immigration gateway to the United States. In 1965, the island was incorporated into the Statue of Liberty National Monument. The main building has been restored and since 1990 has housed the National Museum of American Immigration History. This lot contains one coin from each of the three mints (3 mints in total): Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
