Cette monnaie appartient au septième groupe du monnayage mérovingien attribué à Chalon-sur-Saône. Le monnayage de Cabilonnum est divisé en plusieurs groupes. Pour le septième groupe, plusieurs monétaires sont connus ; AVSTADIVS, ABBO, ...ORTVNVS, ALASIVS, MAGNOALDVS, JACOTE D-IC et ED-CDM VSIAS
Pour les monnaies au nom de IACOTEDIC ou JACOTEDIC, les auteurs du Moneta ont étiudié cinq exemplaires ; le Prou 205 de la collection d’Amécourt (repris sous le B. 1247), l’exemplaire de la vente Cahn du 14 décembre 1932, l’exemplaire d’Autun, celui de Montbrisson et enfin le Belfort 1248.

CHALON - SUR - SAÔNE (CABILONNUM)

Das burgundische Königreich wurde nach dem Sieg von Autun im Jahr 534 dem fränkischen Königreich angegliedert. Burgund hatte bis 613, dem Tod von Thierry II., einen unabhängigen Monarchen. Nach der Ermordung Sigeberts II. durch Chlotar II. im Jahr 613 wurde Burgund dem Königreich Neustrien einverleibt. Saint-Léger, Bischof von Autun (616-678), war Bürgermeister des Palastes. Die königliche Regierung wird durch den Palast gewährleistet, der eher eine Institution als ein Ort ist. Es gibt drei Hauptstädte: Paris (Neustrien), Metz (Österreich) und Chalon-sur-Saône (Burgund). Es gibt immer noch einen Palast, der auch nach der Wiederherstellung der Einheit durch König Chlotar II. weiterhin funktioniert. Der Palast ist ein Symbol der Autonomie des Königreichs. Chlotar II. regiert von Paris aus, aber in Metz und Chalon gibt es noch einen Palast. Die Goldprägung von Chalon-sur-Saône war sicherlich die reichhaltigste der Merowingerzeit..
