Très jolie monnaie pour ce type habituellement très usé. Le droit est un peu mou mais le cheval au revers est finement détaillé. Patine verte

Beschreibung Rückseite Cheval stylisé bondissant à droite ; un oiseau, corbeau au-dessus du cheval, encadré par deux annelets centrés ; sous le cheval, un sanglier tourné à droite.
Kommentare
Cette monnaie dérive des hémistatères au sanglier, avec le même type de tête et le petit sanglier dans la coiffure. Le style du cheval est vraiment très proche de ces hémistatères.
Sur cet exemplaire, au revers, l’oiseau est stylisé. Les ailes sont représentées par un demi cercle aux extrémités annelées et bouletées.
This coin derives from the boar hemistateria, with the same type of head and the small boar in the headdress. The style of the horse is really very close to these hemistateria. On this example, on the reverse, the bird is stylized. The wings are represented by a half circle with ringed and balled ends.

Historischer Hintergrund
GALLIEN - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Region die Évreux)
(3. – 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr.)
Die Aulerci wurden in drei Stämme unterteilt: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani und Aulerci Éburovices. Das Gebiet von Aulerques Éburovices entspricht dem heutigen Departement Eure. Sie werden mehrfach in Caesars Kommentaren zitiert. Letzteren zufolge hätten sie 56 v. Chr. ihren den Römern zugeneigten Senat massakriert und sich den Unelles und den aufständischen Lexoviens angeschlossen. Im Jahr 52 v. Chr. stellten sie der Entsatzarmee ein Kontingent von dreitausend Mann zur Verfügung. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
