Kommentare zum Erhaltungszustand:

Monnaie sur un flan court. De poids relativement lourd, ce triens ne semble pas avoir été rogné, mais plutôt frappé avec des coins trop larges sur un flan trop court... La frappe est centrée au droit comme au revers, mais avec presque toutes les légendes hors flan, et avec des traces de coins rouillés (?). Un coup (ancien) est à noter entre l'œil et l’oreille

Ce triens a les caractéristiques typiques du monnayage d’or mérovingien ; tête au droit et croix au revers. Aucun élément particulier ne semble permettre de proposer une attribution précise à un atelier.
L'épigraphie est très pauvre au droit comme au revers.
Stylistiquement, il est néanmoins possible de rapprocher ce triens du n° 5546 du Belfort. Ce dernier est exactement du même type, avec la même oreille surdimensionnée, les mêmes vestiges complémentaires de légende... mais classé dans les “Monnaies indéterminées”.
This triens has the typical characteristics of Merovingian gold coinage: head on the obverse and cross on the reverse. No particular element seems to allow us to propose a precise attribution to a workshop. The epigraphy is very poor on both the obverse and the reverse. Stylistically, it is nevertheless possible to compare this triens with no. 5546 of Belfort. The latter is exactly the same type, with the same oversized ear, the same additional vestiges of legend... but classified in the “Undetermined Coins”
