The murky period during WWII, the quick refund in 1945 and a momentous hold-up in Clermont-Ferrand in 1944 made the 1000 F Déméter a banknote full of surprises. Large finds or great rarities, unfound dates, extreme prices: from €60 to more than €16,000 in UNC, each specimen may prove to be a treasure... Following the 1945 exchange, some stocks of the Demeter note remained hidden and could not be redeemed.
