Beschreibung Rückseite Croix ancrée, les bras munis d’un pendant à leur extrémité ; grènetis entre des annelets à 3, 6 et 9 heures et une croisette à midi.

Kommentare

Ce denier a un avers extraordinaire, avec une tête d'un style inhabituel et surtout, la légende PARIS très nettement lisible.
Le denier n° 597 de Cambridge a exactement ce même droit, mais avec la légende ]CHVGVSI[ autour de la croix du revers (c'est d'ailleurs l'exemplaire repris sous le n° 6308 du Belfort). Ce type avec l'épigraphie au revers serait attribué à Hugo (723 - 8 avril 730). L’exemplaire du Fitzwilliam museum de Cambridge est le seul répertorié dans le MONETA.
This denier has an extraordinary obverse, with a head of an unusual style and, above all, the very clearly legible legend PARIS. The denier n° 597 of Cambridge has exactly this same right, but with the legend ]CHVGVSI[ around the cross on the reverse (this is also the copy taken under n° 6308 of Belfort). This type with the epigraphy on the reverse would be attributed to Hugo (723 - April 8, 730). The copy in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge is the only one listed in the MONETA
