v32_0985 - Unbestimmt münzen, ORLEANS - POITIERS - (CIVITAS AVRELIANORVM - PECTAVORVM) Denier à la tête radiée et à la croix anillée

Ces petits deniers à la tête radiée sont connus pour Orléans et pour Poitiers. Sur cet exemplaire, la légende est difficilement lisible. Le revers est très original, avec les annelets pointés en cantonnement de la croix. Le denier B. 2105 a ce même type de revers, mais avec une légende extrapolée CVDINV VI qui l'a fait attribuer à Laon (Aisne). Le denier n° 203 du trésor de Nice-Cimiez a lui aussi ce revers, mais sans légende visible au revers et une tête non radiée au droit.
Si ce revers est connu, aucun droit comparable à celui de ce denier ne lui est associé ; ce denier semble inédit.
These small deniers with a radiate head are known for Orléans and for Poitiers. On this example, the legend is difficult to read. The reverse is very original, with the pointed rings in the cantonment of the cross. Denier B. 2105 has this same type of reverse, but with an extrapolated legend CVDINV VI which has led to it being attributed to Laon (Aisne). Denier No. 203 from the Nice-Cimiez treasure also has this reverse, but without a visible legend on the reverse and a non-radiate head on the obverse. If this reverse is known, no obverse comparable to that of this denier is associated with it; this denier seems unpublished
