On peut supposer que le coin a été utilisé comme coin banal, le portrait du roi pouvant difficilement en faire office compte tenu de l’époque.

Note that Feuardent points out a relationship between the obverse and a token of the Court of Coins and the subject is indeed more suited to a Court of Coins than to a parish.
