Grover Cleveland (1837-1908) est le 22e et 24e président des États-Unis d’Amérique. Cleveland est un démocrate libéral réputé pour son honnêteté, son indépendance et son intégrité. Sa politique est caractérisée par un abaissement des droits de douane, une opposition farouche au bimétallisme, à l’impérialisme et aux subventions. S’il est battu aux élections de 1888 par Benjamin Harrison, il est réélu face à ce dernier en 1892.
Ces monnaies ont été uniquement vendues par l’US Mint et pas mises en circulation.

Although he was defeated in the 1888 election by Benjamin Harrison, he was re-elected against the latter in 1892. These coins were only sold by the US Mint and not put into circulation.
