Fondé en 1986, le parc national du Grand Bassin est dans l’État du Nevada, à proximité de la frontière avec l’Utah. Le parc tient son nom du Grand Bassin, une région sèche et montagneuse située entre la Sierra Nevada et les Montagnes Rocheuses. Il couvre une superficie de 312 km².

Le parc est particulièrement connu pour ses pins de Bristlecone, qui peuvent vivre jusqu’à 5 000 ans.
Launched in early 2010, 'America the Beautiful' is a program of 56 commemorative quarter dollar coins depicting the national parks and other national sites of the United States of America. Established in 1986, Great Basin National Park is in the state of Nevada, near the border with Utah. The park takes its name from the Great Basin, a dry, mountainous region located between the Sierra Nevada and the Rocky Mountains. It covers an area of 312 km². The park is particularly known for its bristlecone pines, which can live up to 5,000 years.
