Historischer Hintergrund
SPANIEN - KÖNIGREICH SPANIEN - ALFONS XIII.
(17.05.1886-14.04.1931)
Alfons XIII. (17.05.1886–28.02.1941) ist der posthume Sohn von Alfons Seine Herrschaft begann unter der Regentschaft von Marie-Christine. Im Jahr 1898 verlor Spanien nach einem kurzen Krieg (1895–1898) gegen die Vereinigten Staaten Kuba und die Philippinen. Im Jahr 1906 heiratete Alphonse Victoria-Eugénie de Battenberg (1887-1969), die Enkelin von Victoria I. Spanien war im Ersten Weltkrieg neutral und holte seine wirtschaftliche Rückständigkeit auf. Nach der Diktatur von General Primo de Rivera zwischen 1923 und 1930 brach 1931 der Aufstand aus. Alphonse verließ Spanien, dankte jedoch nie ab. Die Republik wird ausgerufen und fünf Jahre später bricht der Bürgerkrieg aus. Es dauert drei Jahre und kostet mehr als eine Million Todesopfer. Alfons XIII. stirbt im römischen Exil.
