Historischer Hintergrund
BLOIS ET LE BLAISOIS
Die Stadt Blois war im 9. Jahrhundert Sitz der Grafschaft Robert le Fort. Thibaut de Chartres eroberte es während der Herrschaft von Karl dem Einfältigen und die Grafschaft blieb bis 1391 bei seinen Nachkommen, als die Grafschaft an Ludwig I. von Frankreich, Herzog von Orléans, verkauft wurde. Sein Enkel Ludwig XII. bestieg den Thron und vereinte die Grafschaft mit der Krone. Das Schloss, die Lieblingsresidenz der Valois, wurde im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert umgebaut und erweitert. In den Jahren 1576 und 1588 fanden dort die Generalstaaten statt, die durch die Ermordung des Herzogs von Guise berühmt wurden. Hier flüchtete die Regierung 1814. Blois ist heute die Hauptstadt des Departements Loir-et-Cher.
