Fritz Haber, récipiendaire de la médaille en 1929, est un chimiste allemand ayant reçu le Prix Nobel de chimie en 1918 pour ses travaux sur l’ammoniac. Il a également travaillé sur les gaz toxiques utilisés durant la Première Guerre Mondiale. Il supervisa l’offensive allemande à Ypres en 1915 ayant provoqué plus de 100000 morts, blessés et disparus.
The Wilhelm Exner Medal is an award given by the Austrian Trade Association to scientists who have contributed to the economy through their scientific advances. It still exists today. Fritz Haber, who received the medal in 1929, is a German chemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1918 for his work on ammonia. He also worked on poison gas used during the First World War. He oversaw the German offensive at Ypres in 1915, which resulted in over 100,000 deaths, injuries, and missing persons.
